The Joe Biden campaign has released a new, more aggressive climate plan that Biden promises to “take to Congress immediately” if he is elected President. The plan proposes spending $2 trillion for clean energy infrastructure and other climate solutions as possible. A Biden campaign spokesperson said “Addressing the economic crisis is going to be priority one for a President Biden. This will be the legislation he will send up to Capitol Hill immediately to get done. The reality is we will be facing a country that will be in dire need of these types of investments that are going to be made here.”
The plan integrates fighting climate change and an economic recovery package as the nation continues to struggle with the devastating economic impacts of the COVID crisis. It will escalate the use of clean energy in the transportation, electricity and building sectors to create economic opportunities and strengthen infrastructure while addressing climate change.
