The Cape Cod Climate Change Collaborative (Climate Collaborative) is a regional organization whose mission is to reach carbon neutrality or—net zero—on Cape Cod and the Islands of Massachusetts by enhancing communication collaboration, and activism among organizations, programs and individuals.
We are an all-volunteer organization and welcome all individuals who wish to lend their time, experience and talents to the work of our organization. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people and use your experience and interests to make a vital and meaningful contribution to mitigating the climate crisis on Cape Cod and the Islands. Volunteer Coordinator – This volunteer will respond to applications and inquiries about volunteer opportunities; collect volunteer information, availability, and skills, and maintain an up-to-date database; maintain schedules and records of volunteers’ work; ensure upholding codes of conduct and operating procedures to uphold the organization’s values; and help convey organization’s mission to the public.
Database Entry – Data entry involves collecting and inputting data from paper sources to existing data bases; tracking and documenting received data; ensuring accurate data entry; and reviewing all information entered with organization leadership. The data entry volunteer must be detail-oriented, proficient in Excel and Word applications, and a fastidious fact-checker.
Development/Fundraising – The development/fundraising volunteers will focus on opportunities to generate donations, fundraisers, and other mechanisms for enhancing organizational financial stability.
Network Volunteer – Individuals interested in volunteering to participate in a Climate Collaborative network should indicate her/his interest area on the following form.
Membership Coordinator – This volunteer will respond to inquiries from organizations applying for membership, maintain a database of existing and new members, ensure data transfer to the website, and prepare
periodic reports on membership status.
Reporter/Newsletter Support – These volunteers will assist with reporting, writing and editing copy for the Climate Collaborative newsletter. Basic journalism/writing/editorial skills required.
Slide Show Coordinator – This individual will have experience with PowerPoint, graphic and presentation skills, and an understanding of presentations conducted by the organization (e.g., history of organization, science of climate crisis, volunteer opportunities, Climate Action Networks, etc.). S/he he will assist with developing presentations for webinars, events, and the like.
Tech Support – This volunteer will provide tech support and troubleshooting on website and computer technical issues. Volunteer(s) must be a computer geek, and familiar with programs and systems used by the organization.
Website Coordinator – This volunteer will be detail-oriented, proficient in WordPress, and have basic design and editing skills. Work will involve periodically uploading content to the Climate Collaborative website, ensuring timely content, and archiving material, etc.
