Falmouth Climate Action Network Book Club: Saving Ourselves by Dana R. Fisher. July 8th

Saving_Ourselves_20240515FalCAN invites members of the public to join a discussion of the book, Saving Ourselves: From Climate Shocks to Climate Action, by Dana R. Fisher. The discussion will be held on Monday July 8, 2024, 07:00 PM at the Falmouth Public Library, Bay Room, 300 Main St, Falmouth.

Climate change has been a topic of discussion for decades. Saving Ourselves is a call to action. While some actions to address climate change have been taken, Fisher argues there is far more that could be done and must be done. Even though most people now acknowledge there is indeed a climate crisis and action is required, we as a society are struggling to meet our climate goals. Progress is being made, but are more impactful climate activist actions required to induce the major systemic changes needed? The Financial Times said this book contains “useful insights into the increasingly disruptive climate campaigns spreading around the world.” Join us for a frank discussion of potential climate actions from moderate to radical that could be used to pressure politicians and society into faster and more impactful change to protect our planet. Copies of the book are available online and at local bookstores.

FalCAN Book Discussion Group is open to the public. To register for the event (in person and remote participation are available) email: FalmouthCAN@gmail.com.
